Retreat workshop: Making Quilts With Curves
In this workshop, we’ll move beyond the traditional drunkard's path block and dive into innovative techniques and designs that highlight the versatility of the quarter circle.
As you develop your own designs, Daisy will help you master unexpected effects and equip you with the curved piecing skills you need to reverse engineer all of your ideas.
Whether you are an experienced quilter or just starting out, the design exercises and the skill-building sessions will open the door to a whole world of quilt possibilities.

Included in the cost of the workshop:
- 25 hours of lectures, demonstrations, and one-on-one instruction spread across 5 days
- Design packet with tools for creating with curves
- All-hours access to the art studio for the duration of your stay at Clos Mirabel
- Use of all tools for the workshop including sewing machines, irons, pins, scissors, rotary cutters, mats, etc.
- Use of the entire range of WarmFolk acrylic templates
- Access to pop up shop for supplementary tools and materials
Travel, accommodations, food, and extra excursions are not included.
A materials list will be emailed after registration. All tools will be provided, so participants only need to bring fabric.
Participants must register with Clos Mirabel for room and board.
The total workshop cost is 8,700 Norwegian kroner (see various currency conversions below). A deposit of 3,000 kroner reserves your spot.
The balance wiill be billed directly, and final payment is due June 1.
The workshop will be charged in Norwegian kroner, and your payment method (credit card or paypal) will convert to your local currency. Exchange rates will vary over time and depending on method of payment. As of January 2025, a payment of 8700 NOK will be converted to apprioximately:
- €742 Euros or
- $1092 Canadian dollars or
- $757 US dollars or
- $1232 Australian dollars.
Before March 1, deposits or payments can be refunded for any reason minus a 10% processing fee. After March 1, payments are final and cannot be returned. If the minimum capacity isn't reached by June 1, all participants will be notified and all payments refunded in full.
Travel insurance is highly recommended.
- How do I start planing my travel?
If flying, book your travel to Pau-Pyrenees airport (PUF). The major airline at this airport is Air France. North Americans will likely travel via Paris Charles de Gaulle, but luggage will be transferred for you to your flight landing in Pau. From Pau Airport to Clos Mirabel, the drive is approximately 30 minutes. - What are the opportunities for excursions?

Temperatures range from a daily low of 61°F to a high of 79°F (16°C-26°C). August is considered a dry month, so rain is unlikely. - Will I get more information?
